Lexicon has continued its official sponsorship of the Siam Hockey League as the Lexicon Lumberjacks enter their second season, still captained by Lexicon Director of Digital Storytelling, Justin St-Denis.
The Lumberjacks topped the standings during the regular season last year, before losing in the semi-finals of the playoffs. This year, the boys are looking to go all the way.
Each season, the team captains get to pick an entirely new team in a draft. Each captain gets to pick their first choice player, before starting over in reverse order for the second round, and so on until each team has 13 skaters and a goalie.
This year, the Lexicon lineup includes last year’s leading point scorer Nick Lampson, Thai national team star defenceman Hideki Nagayama, veteran Canadian forward Jeff Bonazzo, slick Thai defenceman Ith Vatanapanyakul, and the stalwart Slovak goaltender Igor Sykora.
Team captain, Justin said: “We’ve got a great looking squad this year – a great mix of young speedsters, veteran presence, and just the right amount of nastiness. Honestly, we’re the best team in the league on paper. Now we just have to go prove it on the ice.”
Lexicon CEO David Norcross, added: “We’re pleased with how the first season went with plenty of exposure and success during the regular season. We’re backing the boys to do even better this year and Justin has put together an excellent team.”
SHL games are played at the Thailand International Ice Hockey Arena on Rama 9 soi 19. For the SHL schedule, standings and stats, visit https://siamhockeyleague.com/
